Before the Crash
The Davis family was excited for their trip to Buffalo. They were going to visit their grandparents for the weekend. The children, 10-year-old Sarah and 7-year-old Michael, were especially excited to see their cousins.
The family arrived at the airport early and checked in their bags. They then went to the gate and waited for their flight to be called. Sarah and Michael played games on their iPads while their parents, David and Susan, read the newspaper.
Finally, it was time to board the plane. The family said goodbye to their grandparents and made their way to their seats. Sarah and Michael sat next to the window, while David and Susan sat across the aisle.
The Crash
The plane took off and climbed into the air. Sarah and Michael looked out the window and watched the ground below them disappear. They were so excited to be on their way to Buffalo.
Suddenly, the plane hit a flock of geese. The impact caused the plane to lose control and it went into a nosedive. Sarah and Michael screamed as the plane plummeted towards the ground.
David and Susan reached out to their children and held them close. They knew that there was nothing they could do to stop the crash.
The plane crashed into a house in Clarence Center, New York. All 50 people on board were killed, including the Davis family.
After the Crash
In the days and weeks after the crash, the Davis family's friends and loved ones struggled to come to terms with their loss. They held memorials and vigils to remember the victims and to support each other.
Sarah and Michael's grandparents were especially heartbroken. They had lost their only grandchildren in the crash. They vowed to keep their memory alive by talking to them and acting in ways they know would make them proud.
The Davis family's story is a tragedy, but it is also a story of hope and resilience. In the face of unimaginable loss, the family's friends and loved ones came together to support each other and to keep the memory of Sarah and Michael alive.
