28 Disastrous Dates: A Mostly True Humorous Memoir
I've been on more than my fair share of disastrous dates. I've been stood up, I've been ghosted, and I've even been propositioned by a guy who was wearing a full-body spandex suit. But I've also had some really great dates, and I've learned a lot about myself and about dating in the process.

In this book, I'm sharing 28 of my most disastrous dates. Some of these stories are funny, some are cringe-worthy, and some are just plain unbelievable. But they're all true, and they're all part of my journey to finding love.
I hope you enjoy reading these stories as much as I enjoyed writing them. And if you're ever feeling down about your own dating life, just remember that you're not alone. We've all been there, and we've all survived to tell the tale.
The Guy Who Brought His Pet Snake to Dinner
I met this guy on a dating app. He seemed nice enough, so I agreed to go on a date with him. When he picked me up, I noticed that he had a snake wrapped around his neck.
"Oh," I said, trying not to sound too alarmed. "I didn't know you had a snake."
"Yeah," he said. "Her name is Slither."
Slither was a large, black snake, and she was not particularly friendly. She kept trying to slither up my arm, and I had to keep pushing her away.
Dinner was awkward, to say the least. I couldn't concentrate on my food because I was too busy trying to keep Slither from biting me. And my date didn't seem to notice that I was uncomfortable. He just kept talking about his snake, and how much he loved her.
After dinner, he asked me if I wanted to go back to his place to watch a movie. I declined, and I never saw him again.
The Guy Who Proposed After Two Dates
I met this guy at a bar. We hit it off immediately, and we ended up talking for hours. He was funny, intelligent, and handsome. I was really into him.
After our second date, he asked me to marry him.
I was shocked. I had only known him for two weeks! But he was so sincere, and he seemed so sure that we were meant to be together.
I said yes.
But then, I started to have second thoughts. I didn't really know him that well. And I wasn't sure if I was ready to get married.
I called him and told him that I needed to think things over.
He was disappointed, but he understood. We agreed to continue dating, but without the engagement.
A few weeks later, I broke up with him. I realized that I wasn't ready to get married, and I didn't think that he was the right person for me.
The Guy Who Was a Hoarder
I met this guy online. He seemed nice enough, so I agreed to go on a date with him.
When he picked me up, I noticed that his car was full of stuff. There were clothes, books, newspapers, and even a few pieces of furniture.
"I'm a bit of a hoarder," he said, sheepishly.
I didn't think much of it at the time. But when we got to his apartment, I realized just how bad his hoarding problem was.
His apartment was filled with stuff. There were stacks of newspapers and magazines everywhere. The kitchen was full of dirty dishes. And the bedroom was so cluttered that there was barely any room to move.
I was so uncomfortable, and I couldn't wait to leave. I made an excuse and left after only an hour.
I never saw him again.
The Guy Who Was a Mamma's Boy
I met this guy at a work event. He was friendly and charming, and we hit it off immediately.
We started dating, and everything was going well. Until I met his mother.
His mother was a domineering woman who
